Hi Nick,This is a great guide. It seems to be a common issue and many people have offered similar solutions, but this one is the clearest and most well-explained.However, it didn’t work for me - and from comments I’ve seen around, I know I’m not the only one. I wonder if you have any thoughts on this?At the end of Step 3 (“Click Next and install the driver”), the window flashes to something like “Searching location” for less than a second and then I get:Windows was unable to install your XBOX ACCWindows could not find drivers for your device. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for downloadable drivers.I’m using Win 10 64-bit, fully updated.I’ve tried the other drivers on the Update Catalog with the same result. Is it possible to manually force the drivers to be installed? Thanks,Eryn.

Edit: WARNING, they have changed sellers on this item. When I bought mine, the seller was 'Gimika'. As of this edit (March 15, 2014), the most recent reviews still seem positive, so it's probably still okay. But double check to be sure, especially if it's May 2014 or later.Original review: There are many many wireless receivers on the market, but many of them require you to do surgery to get the drivers installed, as they do not have the correct (Microsoft) USB IDs for the official drivers to recognize them. You have to either edit the driver files, or force-load them, and the whole process is a big pain in the butt. This offering does it correctly.

Nov 16, 2013  would the xbox 360 wireless receiver adapter work with windows 8.1. Because i'm having a problem that my controller keeps getting disconnected for no reason. Hi, Regarding your problems about not connecting the controller to the adapter, I suggest you replace the batteries or recharge the battery pack. Meanwhile, I would like to verify if the.

You just plug it in, and if you're on Win 7 or later, the drivers automatically install, no hassle. If you're on XP, there's a driver disk included.

The wireless dongle is perfect when gaming on PC, I haven't noticed any input lag. It even works with the Steam Link. It was easy to setup and had no issues at all. And Remember it is only compatible with Windows 10 some people have gotten it to work with Windows 7 and 8 but had bugs here and there and they actually know what they are doing.

Don't expect it to work with windows 7 right out of the box.Just wanted to add that I was able to set this up in my computer room use the steam link in my living room and still control my game. The signal had to travel through 2 walls and a bathroom and another 15 feet so with signal obstruction and a total of about 30 feet away it still worked with little to no lag at all. I've only had this controller for a little more than a day. I'll update the review after I've had it for a few months. As soon as I got the controller home I plugged in the USB wireless receiver and Windows 10 immediately installed the drivers.

Jumped on to Steam and was off and running with Battleborn and Battlefield. My daughter wanted to duke it out on the X-Box 360 so we headed into the living room and synced the controller to the 360. Up and running with no trouble at all.Now that it is synced to both I can go from PC to X-Box just by walking to a different room, no hassles at all. I thought I stumbled upon a great deal on some genuine Xbox 360 controllers when I can across this listing.so I ordered two of them. Sadly after I received the controllers and removed the the battery back to examine the label underneath, I saw some glaring differences between these controllers and the genuine ones. First, there are no CE or FCC logos on the label. Second, when I compared the serial numbers on white thin label on both controllers, the serial numbers matched (the serial numbers are not supposed to match on the genuine controllers). You can see this in the photo of the genuine controllers (the ones in red that came with my Gears of War Xbox 360 console) vs.

The not-genuine ones that I received from this seller (the ones in black).Needless to say, the controller 'look' genuine and should function just fine. Just be aware of this. I've owned the Nyko setup, which is a bit more convenient (has a cradle where gravity makes the connection on the bottom of controller), but it didn't really seem to let you know if/when it's charging, and the batteries never seemed to last long at all.

Thus I tried this, which uses the tried and true (and OEM) method of charging. Not only did this work well with the included batteries, my other two controllers (with the Nyko batteries) can now charge for real too! Battery life seems to be a tad less than advertised, but the cells in the batteries may be a little old (mine was new, but unsure when they were made). As with other 360 accessories, it's hard to tell what's new and whats 2010 overstocks!

Anyway, these really do work, and among the current choices, seem to be the best.
